Dr. Lucia Gemma Delogu received her Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Sassari (UNISS) Italy in 2007. She received postdoctoral research training in biochemistry and bio-nanotechnology at the University of Sourthern California 2007-2009, Los Angeles USA. She had been visited post doctoral researcher at the Sanford-Burnham Institute of San Diego, USA in 2008. She had been visited researcher at the National Institute of Health (F.M. Marincola lab) of Bethesda in 2013. From 2012 she acted as assistant professor of Biochemistry in UNISS, Italy. During her stay at University of Southern California she started to focus on nanomedicine with a particular emphasis on the use functionalized carbon nanotubes for drug delivery. Today, Dr. Delogu’s laboratory focus on functionalized carbon nanotubes, graphene, superparamagnetic irone oxide nanoparticles and nanocapsules and their interaction with the immune system at the protein and gene level. Dr. Delogu studies the different nanoparticles as potential immunomodulators systems and ultrasound contrast agents.
